Radio DL aims to provide a one-click tool to download BBC iPlayer Radio Programmes in MP3 format, complete with all the appropriate MP3 tags (id3v2.3).

Radio DL is free, non-commercial software which is intended for personal use by private individuals who are based in the UK. It enables iPlayer radio programmes to be played on mp3 players or mobile devices which do not normally have access to the iPlayer.

Why 'based in the UK'?: Because the BBC places restrictions on people who are outside the UK from accessing iPlayer content in certain ways.

Important!: The BBC makes iPlayer content available for 7 days after broadcast. Please respect this limitation when using Radio DL.

Radio DL is not intended to be used to create permanent copies.

By downloading and using Radio DL, you agree not to retain downloaded iPlayer programmes beyond their expiry date.

Radio DL accesses mp3 streams which the BBC makes available to iPhone & iPod Touch users. It does this without stripping or breaking any Digital Rights Management controls (DRM).

As the BBC does not encode all programmes for the iPhone/iPod touch, not all programmes can be downloaded by Radio DL. However, most programmes that are broadcast on Radio 1 to Radio 7, 1Xtra and Asian Network ought to be available and possibly some others.
